Lunglei District Sports &
Youth Office was opened on 15.12.1989.This
Office is the only Office of Sports Department
at that time except Directorate of Sports &
Youth Services, Aizawl. The Department occupied
private House for Office till the month of
January, 2002.On 27.2.2002, the Department
Constructed a new Office Building of its own and
occupied till date.
The Department achieved
various goals in the field of Sports & Youth
activities in the State as well as National
Level. We may not mention all the details but
the following some disciplines made by the
District Sports & Youth Office, Lunglei.
1. Mizoram Athletic Championship, Champhai Dt.10
- 12/12/2009
2. State Level PYKKA (Panchayat yova Krida Aur
Khel Abhiyan) Dt. 2 - 12/11/2009
3. The following Tournament, Championship and
Demonstration Game were organized by the
Department of Sports & Youth Services, Lunglei
during 2009 - 2010 under the aegis High Powered
Committee, Lunglei.
(I). District Level Men & Women
Hockey Tournament at Lunglei from 31.11.2009 to
5.12.2009
(ll). Mizoram Open Athletic Meet at
Champhai from 10 -12/12/2009
(Ill). Sepaktakraw Demonstration Game (1-11
January, 2010)
(V). A very good and standard Basketball Court
was constructed at Farm Veng Lunglei from the
fund of High Powered Committee, Lunglei under
the supervision of District Sports & Youth
Officer, Lunglei.

Compete Inter District Bharat Scouts & Guide
Rally at Aizawl from 7 - 12/12/2009
RTI ACT:
District Sports & Youth Office had one
application in regards to Right to Information
regarding the infrusture taken up in the
District. But infrustures in the District are
taken up from Mizoram State Sports Council, the
applicant in informed to acquire from the
Mizoram State Sports Council.
